The ‘rendeir’ in konkani is a toddy tapper in his traditional ‘casti’ and ‘Coito’ a cigar firmly clenched between his teeth was very much part of Goan Scenario, as he climbed from tree to tree with great agility to extract toddy and plug coconuts from the trees. The Trees are still there , but the “RENDEIR” is fast fading into oblivion.
